Moon Camp is an education project run in collaboration between ESA and the Airbus Foundation, in partnership with Autodesk. It uses innovative learning technologies to challenge students to design their own Moon settlement with a 3D design tool.
Students will collaborate through 3D digital design software to design a lunar base to solve the problems on moon, including extraction of ice from lunar soil and obtain solutions for drinking water, as well as power supply system and circulation system in camp; Access to food and food growth chamber protection from meteorites and radiation damage.Students submit the completed 3D concept model online, which is then reviewed by a panel of scientists, astronauts and professional designers and engineers from the European space agency, airbus and AUTODESK.
All teams will receive a participation certificate by email. The winning teams of the Moon Camp Explorers will receive ESA and Airbus goodies and the opportunity to participate in a live webinar with an ESA’s astronaut.本次大赛
In the future, to enable astronauts to stay on the Moon for long periods of time, new infrastructures must be developed to overcome important challenges. Such challenges include protection from radiation and meteorites, energy production, the extraction and recycling of water, food production and much more. The Moon Camp Challenge invites students to explore the Moon and decode some of the complexities future astronauts may face.

The Moon Camp should be able to sustain at least 2 astronauts and keep them safe from hazards and the vacuum of space. In previous challenges, students have used ESA's educational resources and design tool Tinkercad to create their lunar camp, coming up with many creative, innovative designs.Tinkercad is an online free software forthe masses that integrates 3D modeling, electronic circuit design, andprogramming into a software platform. There are already more than 23 millionregistered users worldwide.
