Every day and in every corner of the globe, 40 million children, women, and men are exploited through forced labor, forced marriage, domestic servitude, sex tourism, and child soldiering. Globally, this exploitation generates an estimated $150 billion a year in profits. The cost to victims’ health and well-being is even greater, with physical and emotional abuse a part of their daily existence.

Join us on January 9th at 7PM in Lincoln Hall for an eye-opening program on human trafficking (modern slavery) in the U.S. and around the world. We will examine how trafficking works, hear the stories of trafficking survivors, and discuss what is being done to combat this global problem. We will also learn about how individual citizens can identify and assist victims of trafficking, in addition to understanding our own “slavery footprint” through the everyday products we consume.

This event will be conducted in English and Chinese. All are welcome to join in this important discussion, held in recognition of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
