    Speakers

     

    Ms Tan Siok Siok

    Tan Siok Siok is a filmmaker, entrepreneur and a honorary geek with a deep passion for great storytelling in the age of real time web.

    Siok is an entrepreneur who has built Kinetic ONE, a social video platform in China with channels focused on youth culture, fashion and lifestyle as well as parenting&pregnancy. 

    Siok’s latest film project is Twittamentary, a documentary about Twitter, the popular microblogging tool. Leveraging the power of social media, Siok crowdsources the stories and videos for the project. 

    Siok previously worked as an executive producer for Discovery Channel in Asia,. The shows she produced have clinched more than a dozen awards and nominations at the Asian TV awards and the Golden Bell Awards.

    Siok has also been a visiting lecturer at the Beijing Film Academy, where she directed a documentary about the Beijing Olympics with the assistance of her students.

    Siok holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honors) in Comparative Literature from Brown University, USA.

     

    Ms Virginia Tan

    Virginia Tan is the co-founder and president of Lean In China, a women's platform with over 100,000 members across more than 25 cities and 50 universities in China, which supports the goals and aspirations of Chinese women. She has spoken at UNICEF, Baidu, General Electric, Bloomberg, the British Council, Facebook, the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, Tsinghua University, Singapore Management University, etc and has been filmed by BBC, Reuters, CCTV and Vice. She co-founded Her Startup in 2015, the first cross border startup competition for women tech entrepreneurs as well as She Loves Techa global initiative and startup competition focusing on technology by women and technology for women, which launched in 8 international locations in 2017. She is also the founding partner of Teja Ventures, a venture capital fund with a gender lens targetting early stage ventures in Asia.
     
    Virginia's background is in law and finance, where she was an experienced finance lawyer for more than 8 years specialising on energy, resources and infrastructure sectors in emerging markets, and has worked in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America for 2 magic circle firms. She moved to Beijing in 2013 to work on strategic investments related to the "One Belt One Road" initiative on behalf of Chinese state owned companies and financial institutions. 
     
    Virginia is also a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum.

     

    Stella Lin

     

    Stella Lin is a Singaporean with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (National University of Singapore), and a Master of Science in Human and Community Resources (with specialization in Adult Learning, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point).  Stella Lin is the founder and Managing Principal of Evolve International, 宇博联创国际咨询(北京)有限公司,宇博衍创国际咨询(北京)有限公司, the 3 companies are in Singapore and China respectively and the main business is in executive search, training and management consultancy.

     

    Stella has more than twenty years of experience in all aspects of Strategic Human Resource Development and Management. Prior to becoming a headhunter, she was the Human Resource Manager of Standard Chartered Bank. Except for a stint in managing a branch with Standard Chartered Bank, Stella had spent most of her career in human resource development and management in the banking and industrial sectors. She has extensive experiences in Industrial Relations. Stella also possess in-depth knowledge in the use of Occupational Personality Testing and Assessment Center approach for recruitment and career development. While with Standard Chartered Bank, Stella championed the global group's "Induction Program for New Employees". The project won the prestigious Chairman's Award, and she was tasked to migrate the program worldwide. She served on the Executive Council of the Singapore Institute of Human Resource Management for many years, and chaired the Singapore Banking group's Industrial Relations Committee. Stella is known for her leadership in mobilizing and motivating different interest groups to work as a team. She lectured at the Institute of Management, Institute of Human Resource Management, and Institute of Banking and Finance.

     

    Stella is an effective bilingual, she is author of a book 老板到底要什么(What do bosses really want?),the book is a best seller for a few sessions.  In 2011, Stella did a solo concert in the Beijing Concert hall and donated all her receipts from the sales of tickets to the Angel Mom Charity Foundation.  Stella leads an active social life , as part of her charity mission , Stella has done career talks to undergraduates from 60 universities in China,  she is now executive committee member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman of the South East Asia committee of the European and American Student Alumni in China, and committee member of Business School of National University of Singapore ( China Northern Hemisphere ).  Stella is also advisor to the University of Stevens Point School of Business.

     

    Elaine Zhou

    Elaine is an author, inspirational speaker, entrepreneur. She is the author of You Can Create Your Life with an emphasis on conscious goal-setting, self-help, and spiritual devotion. Elaine and her team are also championing Doing Business In China Program by conducting the workshop and speaking at the conference with China-related topics.

    Fluent in English and Mandarin, Elaine is a frequently featured speaker at various industry events and conferences, and she has been featured on FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC. Elaine is a speaker, coach, and trainer with John Maxwell Team

    Her specific skills include leadership capability development, speaking for influence, high-performing team development and professional facilitation, the design and delivery of training programs, coachings and speakings.

    She has designed and presented hundreds of training programs for community leaders, executive and youth leadership groups, business owners, staff, and volunteers. Her programs are designed to improve operations and relations within organizations, as well as prepare organization to attract and retain quality businesses.

    She brings over ten year’s experience in business strategy, organization transformation, human capital, talent management and leadership development. She has been worked since 2006 with leading organizations across Asia in a broad range of industries inducing manufacturing, oil and gas, retail and servicing sector. She is considered a thought leader on leadership and human capital related issues. Most of the clients she is working with are Fortune 500 companies, state-owned, educational institutions and ministries. She trains and coaches regionally in China, Singapore, and Malaysia.
